FirePoint's User Defined Fields

Sometimes you may want to track data that does not appear in a FirePoint field. For these situations FirePoint let's you add your own fields to several FirePoint applications.

Press the Maint button.

Now press the User Fields tab.

To see where User Defined Fields (UDFs) are located, press the Show Unactivated UDFs button. Then press the Done button and go through the "detail view" of any FirePoint application. You should see several UDFs per application. Note the name of the UDF you wish to activate.

Next press the Maint button and return to the User Field tab in System Maintenance. Press the Hide Unactivated UDFs button to hide unused UDFs. Now press the Setup User Fields button and locate the UDF you wish to modify. Each UDF is identified on the "list view" of User Fields. If necessary press the Show All button to show all user fields

Double-click on the field title to edit the field. Note your User Field can have an associated pop-up list. To view or create new pop-up lists go to the "Edit User List" tab of the User Field detail view.

Once you've created a few user fields in an application, return to the application to test your new fields.
