4D Tools - Maintenance Routines
Inside 4D Tools press the Maintain tab:
Begin periodic maintenance by pressing the Check All button. This will do a quick check of your 4D data file. If the check is OK, press the Compact button to compact the database. If not follow instructions to run 4D Tools Repair procedures.
Remember, when you Compact a pair of new data files is created, (Fire_PS2.4dd and Fire_PS2.4dr). It is necessary to move the old data files from the FirePoint folder (Fire_PS.4dd & Fire_PS.4dr) and then remove the extra "2" from the newly data files created by 4D Tools. The titles of the new data files should now match the titles of the old data files. Note: Sometimes a new Fire_PS2.4dr file is not produced. If there is no new Fire_PS2.4dr simply leave the original in the FirePoint folder.
Exit 4D Tools and restart FirePoint.
