FirePoint is available in three versions; Single, Sync & Server. If you are running FirePoint 8 you will immediately see which version of FirePoint you are running. The version is identified in large red letters on the right side of the Command Window.
This is a view of the Sync version of FirePoint. While all of the Versions look pretty-much the same, there are significant differences.
FirePoint Single
FirePoint Single is focused on running NFIRS 5 reporting on a single PC. All NFIRS 5 reporting modules are included as well as a full compliment of NFIRS 5 search and analysis functions. FirePoint single is a low-cost option for fire departments wanting high quality incident reporting at a rock-bottom price.
FirePoint Sync
FirePoint Sync provides NFIRS 5 reporting plus ALL other FirePoint applications. The Sync version is designed for fire departments using FirePoint in one or more locations. Data entered at a remote station, for example, can be forwarded to a central "HQ" installation thus establishing a flexible multi-station data entry system. FirePoint Sync has been optimized for "WiFi" wireless LAN. Using inexpensive wireless routers FirePoint Sync can sync data with other FirePoint programs installed on laptop computers in vehicles. This puts FirePoint pre-plan data into the field while allowing occupancy and inspection data to update the "HQ" database from several vehicle PC's. FirePoint Sync works over local area networks and has a built-in FTP client for communications over the Internet.
FirePoint Server
FirePoint server is a networkable server application that allows multiple FirePoint clients to access a single-data file over a local area network or the Internet. FirePoint Server provides all of the features of FirePoint Sync with the additional benefits of client server access.
FirePoint is Expandable
A fire department purchasing the Single or Sync versions can easily upgrade to the next version whenever required. All data files are natively compatible with each version of FirePoint. FirePoint is fully scalable and capable of growing with your fire department's computer system.
