Occasionally you may wish to produce a report in one file based on the selection of records in another file. For example, suppose you wish to study the dollar loss of all incidents in which E-1 responded, regardless of whether or not E-1 was the first responding company.
To perform this analysis start an Apparatus application. Select all E-1 Apparatus records. Under the File menu select File Operations.
Select Relate APP to INC. Press Execute. FirePoint will automatically establish a set of incident records based on the Apparatus records now in selection.
To view the related Incident records open the Incidents application. Under the Select menu choose Recall Set. Double-click on the APP to INC set in Recall Set. FirePoint will now display the related Incident records.
A similar File Operation exists in Incidents. It relates a set of Incidents to related Apparatus records. After establishing the Apparatus set in Incidents File Operations, press the Apparatus button and then in the Select menu choose Recall Set.
